Sea to Summit Telos TR3 is a 3-person, 3-season freestanding backpacking tent with a 40-square-foot floor area and two doors. It uses an aluminum DAC pole system and includes adjustable ventilation features. In addition, its minimum trail weight is listed at 4 lbs. 3.8 oz.
Tension Ridge Architecture
The Telos TR3 uses Sea to Summit’s Tension Ridge architecture with an inverted brow pole. This configuration increases usable interior space around the upper section of the tent. In addition, it creates higher door openings.
Adjustable Ventilation
An Apex Vent is positioned near the highest point of the tent. Moreover, adjustable lower vents provide additional airflow control. The upper vent can also be operated from inside the tent.
3-Person Interior
The tent provides a 40-square-foot floor area for up to three occupants. Meanwhile, the floor measures approximately 90.5 inches long and 71 inches wide at the head, tapering to 58 inches at the foot.
Two Doors and Vestibules
Two doors provide separate entry points. In addition, the tent offers a combined listed vestibule area of 21.5 square feet for covered exterior space.
52.5-Inch Peak Height
The Telos TR3 has a listed peak height of 52.5 inches. Therefore, the interior provides additional vertical space around the tent’s upper structure.
Aluminum DAC Pole System
The pole structure combines DAC Featherlite NSL and Pressfit components. Furthermore, the supplied specifications list aluminum DAC TH72M poles with 9.6/9.5 mm diameters.
Freestanding Design
The Telos TR3 uses a freestanding design. However, proper staking and guyline use should follow the manufacturer’s setup instructions and site conditions.
Rainfly Setup Options
In wet conditions, the supplied setup instructions allow the rainfly to be pitched before the inner tent. In addition, the rainfly can be rolled toward the Tension Ridge when conditions permit.
Lightbar Storage Sack
The pole storage sack can function as the Lightbar when mounted near the tent peak. A compatible headlamp can be placed inside to diffuse its light through the translucent material.
FairShare Storage System
The included modular FairShare storage system uses three storage sacks. After tent setup, the sacks can also function as internal gear-storage pockets.
Stakes and Guylines
The supplied configuration includes eight Ground Control Light stakes made from 7075-T6 aluminum. Moreover, six removable Ground Control guylines use quick-connect V-toggles and integrated adjusters.
Hangout Mode
The rainfly can be configured as a semi-open shelter using two compatible trekking poles or the Hangout Mode Pole Set. However, these poles are not included with the supplied tent configuration.
