DuroStar DS13000MX Dual Fuel Generator is a portable generator that runs on gasoline or propane. It delivers up to 13,000 peak watts on gasoline and uses a 500cc 4-stroke engine. In addition, it has electric, remote, and recoil starting options for flexible operation.
Dual Fuel System
The generator can run on gasoline or propane. Therefore, users can select a fuel based on their setup and available supply.
In addition, the front control area provides access to the main generator functions. Always follow the fuel steps in the owner’s manual when changing fuel types.
Gasoline Power Output
On gasoline, the generator delivers up to 13,000 peak watts. It also provides 10,500 running watts.
Therefore, users should check the starting and running watt needs of connected equipment. Do not exceed the rated generator output.
Propane Power Output
The DuroStar DS13000MX Dual Fuel Generator also operates on propane. The official specifications list separate output ratings for propane operation.
As a result, available output changes with the selected fuel. Check the power needs of each connected device before use.
500cc Engine
A 500cc 4-stroke OHV engine powers the generator. In addition, the engine uses forced-air cooling and runs at a listed 3,600 RPM.
The engine also has automatic low-oil shutdown. Therefore, this system can stop the engine when the oil level becomes too low.
Multiple Start Options
The generator supports push-button electric start and remote start. It also includes recoil start as another starting method.
In addition, a 12V SLA battery comes with the generator. Follow the owner’s manual when starting or stopping the unit.
CO Sensor Shutdown
A CO sensor shutdown system is included. This system can shut down the generator when it detects unsafe carbon monoxide conditions.
However, a CO sensor does not make indoor generator use safe. Always operate a fuel-powered generator outdoors and follow the safety distances in the owner’s manual.
120 and 240 Volt Output
The generator provides 120/240V output at 60 Hz. It also has GFCI outlets and an automatic voltage regulator.
In addition, the control panel includes a digital volt meter and an hour meter. These features help users view basic operating information.
Generator Outlets
The official specifications list two 5-20R outlets. They also list one L14-30R outlet and one 14-50R outlet.
Therefore, users have several connection options for compatible equipment. Always confirm voltage, wattage, and plug requirements before making a connection.
8.3 Gallon Gas Tank
The gasoline tank has a listed capacity of 8.3 gallons. In addition, a fuel gauge lets users check the gasoline level.
The supplied propane regulator also supports the propane setup. Follow the manual for the correct propane tank and connection process.
Portable Frame Design
The open-frame design includes a wheel and handle kit. Therefore, users can move the generator more easily when it is not running.
The listed dry weight is 209 pounds. As a result, use proper lifting and moving methods when handling the generator.
Included Items
The package includes the DS13000MX generator, propane regulator, oil funnel, spark plug wrench, and tool set.
In addition, the package includes a remote control, wheel and handle kit, and owner’s manual.
